Out

All Lone Pine preorders have shipped. Thanks, people! I hope you like the book and the little extras I included.

New orders will ship right away. And I’m still offering free shipping. And I’ll probably draw a little picture on the first page or something. Buy here.

Residency

From October 10 to Halloween, I lived with 23 other cartoonists from around the world at the Atlantic Center for the Arts -- an "artists-in-residence community." The ACA is located on a nature reserve in New Smyrna Beach, Florida (home to painter Bob Ross for many years).

The cartoonists were broken into three groups and each group was led by a master artist. My group was led by Craig Thompson -- the other groups were led by Paul Pope and Svetlana Chmakova.

Here are the three master artists posing for the camera (not mine):

On the second day, Craig took us to the beach (the beaches were amazing and warm and full of jellyfish):

Giant insects were plentiful:

Here's where Craig's group worked, chatted and arm wrestled:

On the second night (I think), I went on a mischievous bike ride with new pals Pat and Dave:

Here's another pic of Dave as we collaborate on a drawing together:

Here we stand just before Svetlana (not pictured) gave a talk at a local library (her fans love her!):

A pathway through the jungle at the ACA:

Life in the trees:

Life by my feet:

A bike ride to a bay:

Where we ate food (Chef Tom is wonderful) and talked:

Sam Hiti also came for a few days. He's a very nice and talented guy. I like Sam:

They keep bees at the ACA. The honey is delicious:

Here I am just after spying some dolphins (my expression does not reflect the happiness I felt inside):

We all took turns inking a panel:

And I guess that's it for now.

Oh, I also got lots of good feedback on a new graphic novel I'm working on. Hopefully I will have some pages to show you soon.

Hello, Friends

I have returned from Florida. It was pretty great. I will have pics and words to share soon.

Also, Lone Pine is now available in finer comics shops around the country. Here it is at Secret Headquarters in LA (pic by my pal Matt):

Thanks to all who have pre-ordered the book. I'm working on some art for each of you now, and I'll ship your books early next week. I really appreciate the support!

Talk more soon!
